So easy to prepare

This is how easy it is to bake 9 burger buns:

  1. Remove the sesame seeds (small bag) and put them aside. Open the freshness seal and pour the baking mix into a large bowl.
  2. Heat 90 ml milk and 150 ml water (see milk and water line in the can) and 60 g butter either in a saucepan or separately in the microwave for 30 seconds each until the butter dissolves. Allow to cool until lukewarm and stir in two eggs.
  3. Add the lukewarm milk mixture to the baking mix and knead the dough by hand, with a food processor or with a Thermomix for about 4 minutes.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rest in the bowl in a warm place (approx. 24°C) for 30-60 minutes.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface and shape it into a roll without kneading too much. Divide the roll into 9 equal-sized pieces using a dough scraper and roll them into smooth balls.
  6. Place the dough pieces on a baking tray lined with baking paper and brush with the yolk-milk mixture (1 tablespoon milk & 1 egg yolk, whisked). Cover with cling film and leave to rest in a warm place for another 30-60 minutes.
  7. Brush the buns again with the yolk-milk mixture and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  8. oven: Preheat the oven to 190 °C. Bake at 190 °C for 15 minutes, then reduce the heat to 170 °C and bake for a further 9 minutes until golden brown. Remove the burger buns from the baking tray, allow to cool briefly and fill as desired.
  9. Grill: At the end of the rising time, preheat the grill with a pizza stone to indirect medium heat (approx. 200 °C). Dust the preheated pizza stone with flour, spread the buns on it, place it on the indirect zone of the grill, close the grill lid and bake for approx. 15-20 minutes (200 °C) until golden brown. Remove the burger buns from the pizza stone, let them cool briefly and fill them as desired.
  • You only need

    3 eggs
    60 g soft butter
    90 ml milk
    150 ml water

  • Tips

    The buns freeze perfectly. Simply defrost the frozen buns in the microwave for 3 minutes, cut them open and briefly toast the cut surface in the pan.

    Resting time: The longer the dough rests, the better it will rise! It should rise to twice its height!

    During the resting period: Now is the best time to add the meat, vegetables, patties, sauce, salad, cheese
    and prepare everything else you want to put in the burger.
