So easy to bake

It’s so easy to bake your spelt baguette:

  1. Put the baking mix in a bowl, add water (see water line on the bottle) and knead the dough by hand, with a food processor or with the Thermomix for about 3 minutes.
  2. Cover the dough and let it rest in the bowl at room temperature (~ 24 °C) for 20 – 30 minutes.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured work surface and shape it into the desired shape (e.g. make baguettes out of four small balls or two large white loaves). Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  4. Preheat the oven to 230 °C (top and bottom heat).
  5. Cover and let rest at room temperature for another 20 minutes.
  6. Cut the top of the baguettes several times with a sharp knife.
  7. Brush or spray the baguettes with some lukewarm water.
  8. Bake at 230 °C for 10 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 190 °C and bake for another 15 minutes. Then remove from the baking tray and allow to cool for 10 minutes.

    To make the baguettes crispier, moisten the baking paper with a little water!
